Relaxation or

swimming?

What will it be?
  • First of all, the sunshine. The light here is wonderful, with 300 days of sunshine every year. And it’s so spacious. A soft sandy beach with safe waters, over 5 kilometres long and 150 metres wide, plenty of room to spread out your towel. During the summer  you can rent deckchairs and pedal boats on the beach. Ideal for a relaxing holiday!
  • When it comes to safety, we’ll keep watch over you from first-aid posts no. 1, 2, 3 and 4. The plans and by-laws are posted at each station.
  • Our four-legged friends are allowed on the natural beach (after first aid post no. 4) between October and April, provided they are kept on a leash.
  • Because cleanliness is everyone's business, please use the waste bags provided. Please do not use soap or detergents in the showers.

Promenade du front de mer de Narbonne-Plage

The 2.5 kilometre pedestrian promenade along the waterfront is an ideal setting. There’s plenty of room for everyone to walk around. Don your most comfortable sneakers, jump on your bike or put on your rollerblades. Or opt for a “rosalie” pedal bike, an unmissable moment of fun with family and friends!

Let's not forget the wind (the North, the Marin and the Mistral), a constant in our territory. On windy and calm days alike, there's a host of nautical activities available. You’ll find sand yachtingjet-skiing and kite surfing for beginners or advanced athletes.

A resort in the heart of a beautifully conserved environment

The Narbonne beach is in the natural site of La Clape, a rocky barrier that shelters a wealth of valuable fauna and flora.

Les Exals

Follow the coastline to the west (towards Gruissan) to see ponds, lagoons and typical wetland flora spread out before your eyes. Along the road you will see rice fields, sénillade reeds, sansouïres (land which is regularly flooded) and where a great variety of birds nest.

To the east, towards the Cabanes de Fleury, you will see the landscapes of the Camargue! White horses, black bulls, high reed beds... a change of scenery guaranteed!

Les Exals - Narbonne-Plage

The resort is the ideal place for your hikes. There is a botanical and geological walk of 3km, accessible all year round. Ideal for family walks during which you will discover exceptional flora and well-conserved nature. Signs along the Exals trail reveal the secrets of the local plant life.

Isabelle Malet Expert in tourism on the Côte du Midi

"I like to go to the foot of the Clape massif, and walk a small botanical and geological path of about 3kms, in a bucolic setting called "Les Exals".
This easy walk, perfect for the whole family, is rich in local flora and with the educational panels, I can easily spot the different fossils and flowers that line the path."

Infrastructure

Mairie de Narbonne
Equipements plage Narbonne-Plage

Narbonne-Plage is excellent in terms of accessibility.

  • There’s a floor mat at each first-aid post that allows people with reduced mobility and families with strollers to access the seaside very easily.
  • In summer, the resort adds to its infrastructure: the Handiplage service is installed at first-aid post no. 2., allows you to bring a helper and has specific equipment (“tiralo” chairs, toilets anddedicated changing rooms, Audioplage…) for people with disabilities.

And adapted services

The resort also has a marina with 600 moorings, with an exceptional reception area and environmental quality. It has been flying the Blue Flag (only in french) since 1988: a pledge of environmental quality!
It was a leader in this field and one of the first in Occitania to have obtained this recognition.

Free activities for all!

Narbonne-Plage offers a wide range of free outdoor shows for the whole family throughout the year, but especially during the summer period.

Everyone will find what they are looking for in the carefully planned programme: colourful daytime and evening markets, traditional festivals, contemporary music by all kinds of artists, major variety artists, cabaret evenings and children's shows... But above all, let's not forget the Natur'ailes, which takes place every year during the last weekend of May! The international kite festival will take your breath away! Everything you can imagine for a successful vacation!
