Since we consider the L’Oulibo olive oil mill a must in the Côte du Midi region, for us it was a key moment in our stay. New since 2021 is the chance to participate in the tapenade challenge!
I was expecting an old-fashioned cooking class, but was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a real competition in which our "tapenadier" talents were put to the test... In the end, we had a great time and plenty of fun!
What is the tapenade challenge?
We arrive at L’Oulibo where we wait outside in the sun until all the teams are present.
The visit starts with a presentation that immediately puts us in the picture: we will have to make the best tapenade in the world, no less!
The Olive Tree Odyssey
UA bit of history thanks to "The Olive Tree Odyssey" followed by a few questions, and our competitive juices are starting to flow. A small visit to put us in the picture and full of information that we will have to remember: it will stand us in good stead for the game! Right from the go, the game master sets the tone: you have to be very attentive, because there are questions coming up!
Quizzes and challenges
Having acquired all sorts of insights, we finally head for the long-awaited workshop. And after the host's explanations and decisive choices, it's time for the challenge!
The tension mounts... Quizzes, challenges and lots of fun in store!
Tapenade workshop in progress
On the game master's go, we promptly set about pitting and crushing... Shhh, I won't spill the olives here!
erfect for families, couples or among friends. Not only did we have a great time, but we ended up being quite proud of ourselves too: making your own tapenade the old way, with the best ingredients, proves to be very satisfying!
And the best tapenade in the world is…
Even if we were not crowned Best Tapenade in the World, we still had a wonderful time and lots of fun! And, above all, we left with our own well-deserved pot of this delicious speciality for aperitifs. To be enjoyed "without moderation"!
A visit to the shop is a must!
We can't leave without visiting the shop with its local L’Oulibo goodies and its 3,000 olive-related products, along with other regional products like salt, jams, etc. Lots of tasty memories to take back for ourselves and the whole family!
